Terms of Service

BY USING MULTICAL, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ, UNDERSTOOD, AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS OF SERVICE.
Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using Multical ("Service," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
1. Service Description
1.1 What Multical Does
Multical is a calendar synchronization service that:
- Connects to your existing calendar accounts (Google Calendar, Microsoft 365)
- Creates blocking events across multiple calendars based on your rules
- Helps prevent double-booking across your various calendars
- Provides customizable sync rules and privacy controls
1.2 What Multical Is Not
Multical is:
- NOT a calendar application itself
- NOT a booking or scheduling tool
- NOT a calendar storage service
- NOT a replacement for your existing calendars
2. Eligibility
2.1 Age Requirement
You must be at least 13 years old to use Multical. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or guardian.
2.2 Account Requirement
You must:
- Provide accurate and complete registration information
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use
- Be responsible for all activity under your account
2.3 Prohibited Users
You may not use Multical if:
- You have been previously banned from the Service
- You are located in a country subject to U.S. embargo
- You are on any U.S. government list of prohibited parties
3. Account Registration
3.1 Account Creation
To use Multical, you must:
- Provide a valid email address
- Create a secure password
- Provide your name
- Accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy
3.2 Account Security
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your password
- All activities that occur under your account
- Notifying us immediately of any security breach
3.3 Account Termination by You
You may delete your account at any time by contacting support@usemultical.com. Upon deletion:
- Your access will be immediately revoked
- Calendar connections will be disconnected
- Your data will be deleted per our Privacy Policy
- Paid subscriptions are non-refundable (see Section 5)
4. Calendar Access and Permissions
4.1 OAuth Authorization
When you connect a calendar, you authorize Multical to:
- Read your calendar events
- Create blocking events in your calendars
- Modify events created by Multical
- Delete events created by Multical
- Subscribe to calendar change notifications (webhooks)
4.2 Scope of Access
We access only:
- Calendar events (titles, times, locations, descriptions, attendees, video links)
- Calendar metadata (names, colors, timezones)
- User profile information from calendar providers (email, name)
We do NOT access:
- Your email messages
- Your files or documents
- Your contacts (unless you use shared calendars)
- Any other data from your Google/Microsoft account
4.3 Revoking Access
You can revoke Multical's access at any time by:
- Disconnecting the calendar in Multical settings, OR
- Revoking access in your Google/Microsoft account settings
4.4 Calendar Provider Terms
You must also comply with:
- Google API Services User Data Policy
- Microsoft API Terms of Use
- Your calendar provider's terms of service
5. Subscription and Billing
5.1 Subscription Plans
Multical offers:
- Free Trial: 7 days for Monthly and Annual plans
- Monthly Plan: $3/month, billed monthly
- Annual Plan: $30/year, billed annually
- Lifetime Plan: $150, one-time payment
5.2 Payment Processing
- All payments are processed through Stripe
- You must provide valid payment information
- You authorize us to charge your payment method
- Prices are in U.S. Dollars (USD)
5.3 Free Trial
- 7-day free trial for Monthly and Annual plans
- No charges during trial period
- Credit card required to start trial
- Cancel anytime during trial for no charge
- After trial, subscription auto-renews unless cancelled
5.4 Automatic Renewal
- Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period
- You will be charged the then-current rate
- You can cancel renewal at any time before the next billing date
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
5.5 Cancellation and Refunds
- Cancellation: You can cancel anytime via your account settings or Stripe Customer Portal
- Refunds: All sales are final and non-refundable
- Exception: We may offer refunds at our sole discretion for technical issues
- Access After Cancellation: You retain access until the end of your paid period
5.6 Failed Payments
If payment fails:
- We will attempt to charge your payment method multiple times
- Your account may be downgraded to free tier
- You will be notified via email
- Reactivate by updating payment information
5.7 Price Changes
- We may change subscription prices with 30 days notice
- Price changes do not affect current subscription periods
- Continued use after price change constitutes acceptance
5.8 Taxes
- Prices do not include applicable taxes
- You are responsible for all taxes
- We will collect taxes where required by law
6. Acceptable Use
6.1 Permitted Use
You may use Multical to:
- Sync your personal or work calendars
- Manage your schedule across multiple calendars
- Prevent double-booking
- Control calendar visibility and privacy
6.2 Prohibited Use
You may NOT:
- Violate any laws or regulations
- Infringe on others' intellectual property rights
- Transmit malware, viruses, or harmful code
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose
- Scrape, crawl, or index the Service
- Resell or redistribute the Service
- Use the Service to spam or harass others
- Create fake accounts or impersonate others
- Overload or interfere with the Service
- Share your account credentials with others
6.3 Service Limits
- Reasonable use only (no abuse of sync frequency)
- We may implement rate limits
- Excessive use may result in throttling or suspension
7. Intellectual Property
7.1 Multical's Property
We own all rights to:
- The Multical name, logo, and branding
- The Service software and code
- The Service design and user interface
- All content we create
7.2 Your Content
You retain ownership of:
- Your calendar data
- Your sync rules and preferences
- Any content you input
7.3 License to Us
You grant us a limited license to:
- Access and process your calendar data to provide the Service
- Store your sync rules and preferences
- Display your name and email in your account
This license ends when you delete your account or disconnect calendars.
7.4 Feedback
If you provide feedback or suggestions:
- We may use them without obligation to you
- You waive any rights to such feedback
- We are not required to implement feedback
8. Third-Party Services
8.1 Calendar Providers
Multical integrates with:
- Google Calendar (Google LLC)
- Microsoft 365 Calendar (Microsoft Corporation)
- Future calendar providers (to be announced)
You are responsible for complying with their terms of service.
8.2 Payment Processing
Stripe processes all payments. By subscribing, you agree to Stripe's terms.
8.3 No Endorsement
We do not endorse or control third-party services and are not responsible for their actions.
9. Service Availability and Support
9.1 Service Availability
- We strive for 99.9% uptime
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted service
- Scheduled maintenance will be announced when possible
- We are not liable for service interruptions
9.2 Support
- Support available via email: support@usemultical.com
- We aim to respond within 2 business days
- Priority support for Annual and Lifetime subscribers
- Support is provided in English
9.3 Service Changes
We reserve the right to:
- Modify or discontinue features
- Update the Service with or without notice
- Implement new features or limitations
10. Data and Privacy
10.1 Privacy Policy
Our Privacy Policy (incorporated by reference) explains how we collect, use, and protect your data.
10.2 Data Security
We implement reasonable security measures, but:
- No system is 100% secure
- You use the Service at your own risk
- We are not liable for unauthorized access resulting from circumstances beyond our control
10.3 Data Backup
- You are responsible for backing up your own calendar data
- We are not responsible for data loss
- We do not guarantee data recovery
11. Disclaimers
11.1 "AS IS" Service
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- MERCHANTABILITY
- FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
- NON-INFRINGEMENT
- ACCURACY OR RELIABILITY
- UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION
11.2 Calendar Accuracy
- We do not guarantee accurate calendar synchronization
- Sync delays may occur
- You are responsible for verifying your calendar
- We are not liable for missed meetings or double-bookings
11.3 Third-Party Services
- We are not responsible for calendar provider outages
- We are not liable for issues with Google, Microsoft, or Stripe
- Third-party terms apply to their services
12. Limitation of Liability
12.1 Maximum Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR $100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
12.2 Excluded Damages
WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR:
- INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES
- LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, OR DATA
- LOSS OF USE OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION
- COST OF SUBSTITUTE SERVICES
- MISSED MEETINGS OR SCHEDULING ERRORS
12.3 Basis of Bargain
THESE LIMITATIONS APPLY EVEN IF:
- We knew or should have known of the possibility of damages
- A remedy fails of its essential purpose
- You have been advised of the possibility of such damages
12.4 Jurisdictional Limitations
Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation of liability, so these limitations may not apply to you.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Multical, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including attorneys' fees) arising from:
- Your use of the Service
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any law or third-party rights
- Your calendar data or sync rules
- Unauthorized use of your account
14. Termination
14.1 Termination by You
You may terminate at any time by deleting your account.
14.2 Termination by Us
We may suspend or terminate your account if:
- You violate these Terms
- You engage in fraudulent activity
- Your account is inactive for 2+ years
- Required by law
- We discontinue the Service
14.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination:
- Your access is immediately revoked
- Calendar connections are disconnected
- Your data is deleted per our Privacy Policy
- These Terms survive where applicable (e.g., indemnification, limitations)
15. Dispute Resolution
15.1 Informal Resolution
Before filing a claim, contact us at legal@usemultical.com to resolve the dispute informally.
15.2 Binding Arbitration
Any dispute will be resolved through binding arbitration rather than in court, except:
- Small claims court actions
- Intellectual property disputes
- Injunctive relief requests
15.3 Arbitration Rules
- Arbitration under American Arbitration Association (AAA) rules
- Conducted in English
- Location: Your home state or remotely
- Each party pays own attorneys' fees unless arbitrator decides otherwise
15.4 Class Action Waiver
YOU WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT OR CLASS-WIDE ARBITRATION.
15.5 Opt-Out
You may opt out of arbitration by emailing legal@usemultical.com within 30 days of first accepting these Terms.
16. General Terms
16.1 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
16.2 Venue
Any disputes not subject to arbitration will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois.
16.3 Entire Agreement
These Terms, along with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Multical.
16.4 Severability
If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
16.5 Waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision is not a waiver of that right or provision.
16.6 Assignment
You may not assign these Terms. We may assign these Terms to an affiliate or in connection with a merger or sale.
16.7 No Agency
No agency, partnership, or joint venture is created by these Terms.
16.8 Force Majeure
We are not liable for delays or failures due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
16.9 Notices

- Notices to you: Email to your registered email address
- Notice is effective upon sending
16.10 Updates to Terms
We may update these Terms:
- Changes posted with new "Last Updated" date
- Material changes notified via email
- Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance
- If you disagree, you must stop using the Service
