When you're a fractional, consultant, portfolio careerist, or multi-hyphenate, you often have multiple calendars and calendar providers. Work calendars, personal calendars, and school calendars. Calendars across different clients. It's a lot to manage.
Keeping them all up to date is basically an unpaid part-time job which requires manual duplication of new events so you don't get double-booked. Calendar syncing (not to be confused with calendar sharing!) uses automation to copy events from one calendar to another.
Let's start by differentiating between calendar sharing and syncing.
When you share your Google, Outlook, and iCloud calendars with each other, only you can see the events. People will see you as free in Microsoft Scheduling Assistant or Google Find a Time and double book you. You can learn how to see your Google calendar in Outlook via this Microsoft Support article.
When you sync your calendars, We copy the events over in real-time so that people see your true availability. Multical prevents double books so scheduling conflicts become a thing of the past!
With a one-way sync, Calendar A gets updated whenever an event is added to Calendar B.
With a two-way sync, Calendar A gets updated whenever an event is added to Calendar B, and Calendar B gets updated whenever an event is added to Calendar A.
You can customize your syncs to be one-way or two-way, depending on your needs.
Portfolio View is our unified calendar view where you can see all of your calendars in one place. It's your home base where you can view, schedule, and update calendars without having to toggle between tabs. Our web-based calendar app works on mobile and desktop so you can easily access all your calendar events on whatever device is handy.
Protect your privacy through customizable sync rules. You control who sees what information. On the backend, we encrypt all credentials and also encrypt data in transit and at rest. We only ask for the minimum permissions we need, and we don't store your calendar event data on our servers. You're in charge of your data. You can revoke Multical's access at any time.
